A YouTube video is usually 16:9. TikTok, Reels, and Shorts are 9:16. A center crop cuts off the guest. A stretch looks cheap. Reframe is the job of keeping the subject in a new frame as the ratio changes.
Choppr’s reframe is in the clip editor, not a separate app. After a clip is cut you choose the output ratio. Tracking keeps the speaker or the action in view. If the AI is wrong, you move the crop yourself.
Interview and podcast clips often need more than one face. Split layout puts two crops on one vertical canvas, with a divider you can drag. That is a different problem from “make it tall,” and it is why reframe and layout live together here.

Landscape originals
Cameras, Zoom recordings, and YouTube masters start wide. Shorts do not. Tracking is the difference between a usable vertical clip and a chopped forehead.

Can I override what the AI tracks?
Yes. You can take over the crop and tell it what to follow. Split panes and the divider are adjustable too.
Does reframe run without a full clipping job?
Yes. Captions or reframe on their own cost 1 credit per minute. A clipping job is 2 credits per minute of source. Exports are 2 credits each.
Will 9:16 stretch the video?
No. Reframe crops and tracks. It does not stretch a 16:9 frame into a tall rectangle.
